As many of you know, Mexico is a part of District 6. Mexico City has a population of ~20 million and is the economic center of the country. What an untapped opportunity for spreading parliamentary education! Since planning this event, one member has joined NAP and has already been contacted.
Plans are underway to have a district event in Mexico City next summer. One track will be focused on NAP member education and the other track will be basic parliamentary education culminating in the membership exam. NAP bylaws explain an association may be chartered with 15 members and sustained with 10. With successful marketing, I anticipate this to be a successful endeavor.
Hotel rates are expected to be approximately $125 per night. Tentatively the Hilton Mexico City Santa Fe is scheduled for June 4-7. The courses would occur Friday and Saturday. With enough notice, flights to Mexico City can be affordable from many District 6 locations. Excursions are in the planning process to make this a memorable event! Hopefully the schedule will allow to visit the Teotihuacan Pyramids, the Palacio de Bellas Artes, and perhaps a philanthropic visit to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Please consider attending! Be sure you have your passport and make sure it is not expiring!
I hope to see as many of you as can possibly attend!
Stay tuned for more information!
